Fourteen days to change your mind

You may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason. This page explains how, what it costs you, and the single exception that applies to sealed items.

1. The period

The withdrawal period is 14 days. It starts on the day after you, or someone you designate, receives the goods. If an order is delivered in several shipments, it starts on the day after the last shipment arrives.

To meet the deadline it is enough that you send your notice before the period expires. You then have a further 14 days to send the goods back.

If we have failed to inform you about this right, the period is extended by twelve months from the end of the original period.

2. How to withdraw

Tell us in a clear statement before the deadline. Any of these works:

Email support@starsocknl.rest with your order number and what you are returning.
Use the model withdrawal form. You are not obliged to use it.
Call +31 13 5231400 during office hours and confirm in writing after.

We confirm receipt of your notice by email without delay. Return the goods to: STAR SOCK B.V., Parklaan 14, 5061 JT Oisterwijk, Nederland.

3. The exception: sealed items

Socks are items of clothing worn next to the skin. Where a product is delivered sealed for hygiene reasons and you open that seal, the right of withdrawal no longer applies to it. This follows from Article 6:230p of the Dutch Civil Code.

This exception is not applied across the board. It applies only to the products that are actually delivered sealed, and only once the seal has been opened. A sealed item returned with its seal intact can still be withdrawn from in the normal way.

The 10 products delivered sealed are: A-07 Trace Fine 70, B-06 Cotton Slub 55, C-06 Wool Fine 45, E-06 Plain Fine 25, F-01 Trace 3-Pack, F-02 Cotton 3-Pack, F-03 Wool 3-Pack, F-04 Plain 5-Pack, F-05 Trace 5-Pack, F-06 Trace 8-Pack. Each of those product pages says so, your cart says so on the line item, and checkout asks you to confirm it separately before you can continue.

Every other product on this site keeps the full 14-day right of withdrawal, whether you have opened the packaging or not.

4. Handling the goods in the meantime

You may handle and inspect the goods as you would in a shop. Trying a sock on briefly, over your own sock or on a clean foot, is normal inspection.

Wearing a pair for a day, washing it, or removing the composition label is more than inspection. Where handling beyond what is necessary has reduced the value of the goods, we may deduct that reduction from your refund. We tell you the amount and the reason before deducting anything.

5. What it costs you

Return postage	Paid by you. Stated here before you buy, as required. The cost depends on your carrier and country; we do not add a handling fee.
Original delivery cost	Refunded by us, at the rate of our standard delivery. If you chose a more expensive delivery method, the difference is not refunded.
Restocking fee	None. We do not charge one.

If you withdraw from only part of an order and the remaining products fall below the free-delivery threshold of USD 65, we do not retroactively charge you delivery on the part you kept.

6. Your refund

We refund all payments received from you, including the standard delivery cost, within 14 days of the day we are informed of your withdrawal. We may wait until we have received the goods back, or until you have supplied evidence of having sent them, whichever is earlier.

The refund is made using the same means of payment you used, unless you expressly agree otherwise. You will not be charged any fee for the refund.
