Privacyverklaring
What we collect, and what we deliberately do not

1. Who is responsible
The controller is STAR SOCK B.V., Parklaan 14, 5061 JT Oisterwijk, Nederland. For any privacy matter write to support@starsocknl.rest or call +31 13 5231400. We have not appointed a data protection officer; privacy requests are handled by the same team that answers customer service email.
2. What we collect and why
| Data | Purpose and legal basis |
|---|---|
| Name, email, phone, delivery address, country | Processing and delivering your order, and answering questions about it. Basis: performance of a contract, and steps taken at your request before entering one. |
| Order contents and order history | Fulfilment, returns, refunds and conformity claims. Basis: performance of a contract, and legal obligation for the accounting record. |
| Checkout details entered before payment is completed | Kept so we can help if a checkout fails and so we can honour an order you thought you had placed. Basis: our legitimate interest in completing a transaction you started. You can ask us to erase it at any time and we will. |
| Contact and material question forms | Answering the question you asked. Basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. |
| Email address given for our mailing list | Sending occasional emails about products and materials. Basis: your consent, ticked separately from anything to do with an order, and withdrawable in one click in every email. |
| Server logs | Keeping the site available and secure. Basis: our legitimate interest in the security of our systems. |
3. What we do not do
- No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising tags, no fingerprinting.
- No profiling and no automated decision-making with legal effects.
- No sale or rental of personal data. Ever, to anyone.
- No bundling of consents. Agreeing to our terms is never the same tick box as agreeing to marketing.
- No purchase of email lists. If you get an email from us, you asked for it or you ordered from us.
4. Who else sees it
Only parties that need it to do a specific job for us:
- The carrier delivering your parcel — name, address, and where you supplied it, phone or email for delivery notification.
- The payment service provider processing your payment. Card and payment credentials are entered with that provider and are never stored on our systems.
- Our hosting and email providers, which process data on our instructions under a data processing agreement.
- Our accountant and, where legally required, tax and supervisory authorities.
Where a processor is outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
5. How long we keep it
| Order and invoice records | Seven years, as required by Dutch tax law for the accounting record. |
|---|---|
| Checkout data where no order followed | Twelve months, then deleted. Earlier on request. |
| Contact and material question correspondence | Twenty-four months after the exchange ends. |
| Mailing list | Until you unsubscribe, then removed. |
| Server logs | Up to ninety days. |
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to your data, correction of it, erasure, restriction of processing, and portability. You may object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and you may withdraw consent at any time without that affecting processing already carried out.
Write to support@starsocknl.rest. We answer within one month. There is no charge. We may ask for enough information to be sure we are talking to the right person, and no more than that.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP), or with the supervisory authority in your country of residence. You do not have to complain to us first, although we would rather you gave us the chance.
7. What is stored in your browser
Your cart is kept in your own browser's local storage so it survives a page reload. It stays on your device, is not sent to us until you check out, and contains nothing but product codes, sizes and quantities. The cookies page explains this in full and lets you clear it in one click.
8. Children
This store is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. Anyone aged 13 to 17 may only order with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us data, write to support@starsocknl.rest and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this statement
If this statement changes materially, the date at the top of the page changes with it and anyone on our mailing list is told. We do not apply a new purpose retroactively to data already collected.
